Made this wool blanket jacket two years ago for a survival challenge
It's made from four army wool blankets sewn together with waxed thread.
It's got three open pockets on the front, and the cuffs aren't fixed just rolled so you can roll them down to make improvised gloves for hot pans etc or walk around monk style
I thought it was a nice feature to leave one of the old labels from the blankets showing.
To fasten the collar and the face wrap I made two toggles from a small oak branch, works great for keeping the wind out. All in all its very warm, definately a winter garment. When the heater broke in my old dihatsu when the "beast from the east" arrived earlier in the year it was a life saver, got some funny comments from my buddies at work though.
