Thanks
From the top:
Handles are
black linen Micarta,
Cookstown Ironwood with red vulcanised fibre liner, I haven't used it before but its very hard and dense, finished with Danish oil
Natural Tufnol, the British version of Micarta,
black linen Micarta again
and finally ebony with red vulcanised fibre liner
From a practical point of view, Micarta and Tufnol are the best handle materials because its waterproof and has a grippy texture when wet. But I love natural handle materials as well but they need the vulcanised fibre liners in between the steel and wood to cope with small movements in the wood due to climate and the effects of water.
