your house!
Hello I was wondering if anyone else on here has one of the 250, I have number 151, I really enjoy using my knife in and around the house as well as out and about, does anyone know what was used to colour the wood or is natural, I have good fun with mine I hope you do too!:)

Does anybody know what kind of steel this one is made of? Apart from being 'carbon' It is never mentioned and for some reason I think that a real smithy like Petterson will resort to spring steel i.o. tool steel.

Just curious.

I am pretty sure it is 01,although i'm not sure it is called that in Sweden!
I did ask when I ordered mine (no.171) and the answer was "hand forged carbon tool steel"
Havn't used mine yet tho!! ( I do,however, have a lot of knives and seem to reach for my Dave Budd Green Man Pro. most often when out in the woods!)
Cheers.

The blade is a laminate. I don't know the exact steel JP uses, but the edge is a hard core wrapped with a softer outer. I think he uses birch or pine tar to stain and cover the scales.
