Hi y'all
Can anyone ID the three sections wood I have used on this knife, alongside the Yew and the Buffallo horn bolster and end pieces?
All the bits in this handle were traded from various folk on this site but this wood was unidentified by the doner.
It came in blocks showing both very dark and very pale wood (sap/heart?) and was incredibly hard and dense - especially the dark sections!.
The handle has been treated with Teak Oil and Bees' wax and the colours are now very mellow.
For information the blade is an E Jonsson Mora blade in carbon steel, with a rat-tail tang, while the neck/belt sheath is in antiqued, waxed, dyed and polished leather (possibly pigskin), wet moulded to the knife and sewn with waxed linen thread.
