Really simple for anyone to knock up, great way to start off on DIY for nippers aswell. All you need is a couple of cans, knife, drill (and optional metal glue/sealant).
These things work really well and you can achieve a 45 min burn time on a single charge of pellets or burn all day if feeding twigs.
No more sooty pans and no expense.

Thanks for posting, good vid, looking forward to number 2 and seeing it in action!

Was it guess-work that the tins fitted so well together or experience?

Little bit of both Tony, if you ct the hole slightly smaller than the can fitting into it you should get a tight fit. I made a quick one a few days ago out of a sweetcorn tin and a bean tin, no tools other than swiss army knife and it works well. Looks terrible but works well

Great video. I was wondering when I made one about 6 months ago. I used it great first 2 times. Burning birch and pine etc. But it soon started corroding pretty badly. Ended up not lasting much beyond the 5th use. Any ideas apart from my own obvious user error I. E. Wrong woods used etc?

Samson killed a lion and when he returned some bees had made a hive within the body. Samson then took some of the honey from the hive. So from the Strong comes the Sweet

I added a shelf of galvanized hardware cloth at the bottom of the burn chamber. The pellets don't roll out the bottom so much. Two air holes, one on the outer can, one on the inner, align to allow a splint to reach in under that shelf and light the stove. (Fully cognizant of the health risks arising from the first burn of galvanized material Stay upwind.)

On corrosion: Make another one. No snark intended.

Then he gave the honey to Delilah the Sweet-toothed to intice her into his bed chamber.
As a Thank You for the honey and Tantric experience, she cut his hair and shaved his beard while he slept as she really preferred well groomed men.
Sampson did not know he had lost his hair power so next time he went Lion hunting, the Lion killed him.

Found it. I dialed down the resolution to make these a bit smaller, but the phone's smallest is still 2.7 M.

6. Detail, pot and burner

Not shown: store-bought folding windscreen and "one-egg" skillet, cloth geological sample bag to hold it all.
Not detailed: plastic bag with flint and steel (piece of old file) and some jute cord and charcloth.
Lost: the other half of the wee 'X' that holds a solid fuel tablet off the bottom of the mini-cat.
[Edit: I was mistaken in a prior post. No holes line up for easy lighting. ...Must have stored the idea for the next iteration...]
