I completed the essential bushcraft course last July. Before this my only experience of 'bushcraft' was a weekend survival course in the marine cadets 11 years ago and being an avid watcher of Ray on TV.
I cant compare it with any other bushcraft providers, but it cant be that bad as im booked on another one of their courses this year.
The course was well thought out (ive done a lot of courses in the past for work and play), informative and hard work!! But I learnt alot in the time.
Although i havent met John yet, I had both Nick and Chen as the course instructors, who were incredibly friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the subjects taught. The food was pretty basic but plentiful and good quality. The site was also pretty well chosen. Hey and any chance to sleep under the stars is always good!! The only thing I cant garantee is the weather.
The course has definately left me a bushcraft convert and a headache organising a group reunion in april.

I hope you enjoy the course. :D

Anyone going or has been to the Wood Craft School near Midhurst on any courses, run by John Ryder and all. I'm booked on a 6 day course in the summer with them?

Cheers

I've done several courses with John, Nick and Chen as have a few other BCUK members and I guarantee you won't be dissapointed. They make a great team and extremely knowledgeable all of them. A great sense of humour too. Good choice.
