WIP scandi

this is my latest work in progress. made from a ball bearing casing, antler, pewter, birch bark, burl (don't know what though), buffalo horn and plum wood.

should be quite good once I have polished and sharpened up the blade.

what do you guys think?

that picture doesn't do it any justice at all. it also looks a bit shorter than it really is too. - but I'm no camera wizz so that's teh best I can do.

I'm pretty chuffed with the handle. - the blade is a good steel but it just isn't big enough unfortunately.

all a good learning process though

How thick have you made the blade?

The blade was made from a 3" ball bearing casing. - had to forge out the groove so it is only 2mm thick and 80mm long.
