I found a patch of wild strawberries yesterday at Hurst hill/wooods, Cumnor near Oxford.
They really were wild, deep in the woods, and no bigger than a childs finger nail...............sweet
I only tried a few and didn't slaughter the patch................. Very chuffed. :)

I am a lucky boy - they grow like weeds in my garden...too many to pick!
And the lanes around are full of them...
Before now we have picked so many that we made jam with them.....:)

We've been thoroughly enjoying our walks because of all the wild strawberries about, even Jenna at 20 months is getting eagle eyes when it comes to spotting them :D

I occasionally find that a couple of wild strawberry plants have sneaked into our polytunnels at work, they make for a nice reward when picking the rest. I'm not sure that I prefer them to the cultivars though.

For those who live between Edinburgh and Glasgow; there is loads all along the Forth-Clyde canal.
