Just a few....I could have picked loads more.

Lightly steamed and served with butter and a few flakes of sea salt. A bit like asparagus....but also a tiny bite from the hoppy bitterness. I expect this bitterness will depend on the type of hop.

A rather nice treat.

Lucky you. Hops seem to be a rarity in Cornwall's hedgerows and they are a favourite of mine. Hop shoots were traditionally used as a spring green in the areas where they were grown for the beer industry.
