Where are you getting those statistics from?

The last time I looked it was generally accepted that violent crime had been decreasing for some time, crimes against property might well be on the rise though.

Search the British crime survey. Crime in general is going down. But violent crimes, rape, assault wounding there are increasing, at least that how I understood it

Although the increase in violent crime is an English/Wales thing, in my country, Scotland, it has been falling.
