Why do I struggle to put a carving project down?

I don't do a great deal of carving. My last effort was that big bowl you saw and some one on here has a spoon I made.

But last night I was bored so I thought I'd make some progress on a ladle I'm making. I really struggled to stop and put it away for the night!
I had that with the bowl too - I just wanted to keep going with it.

Does anyone else find that too?

I get that all the time, the missus moans at me for it. I don't carve for weeks at a time, but once I start I usually can't stop until it's finished.
I just started a woodspirit last week then got ill and twice she caught me trying to go out to the shed to carry on , must admit should have stayed in bed but I just wanted to finish it. :)

Just means your keen lol

Yep, I can carve all day, be absolutely knackered, feed the kids, then carve again to relax. I wouldn't worry about it....think OCD can be positive, OCD can be.....

There is just something about it that makes me want to keep going.

Think I'll try a wood spirit next.

I love carving. It's very addictive and helps one wind down as I needs just the right level of concentration to stop you thinking about life's little stressors.

I constantly have to force students to put their knives away and take a break.
