Whittling a wood whistle/recorder?

Hello all. Does anyone have any instructions on how to whittle a recorder or a wood whistle (complete with tone holes)? I've searched on here but couldn't find anything quite what I was looking for. Thanks!

I've used this calculator to make a couple of flutes out of PVC successfully:

Note that the wall thickness as well as hole dimensions are a factor. I suggest first bore your hole, then consider the rest.

Although flutes are harder to play, they are easier to make, since you don't have to whittle the 'fipple' bit.
