I agree with Duncan about the Victorinox lock knives, reasonable price and there's a variety of different models to choose from to fit your needs.

cheers, Pete.

How about a Jouni folder from Kellam? Don't own one myself but people seem to like Kellam knives and people seem to especially like the Jouni folder. They say "The Jouni Folder brings you custom made quality at a reasonable price." but of course $150 USD isn't reasonable to everyone (me included).

For me though, I think I'd rather get a Victorinox swiss army knife, they're cheaper than the single blade folders from other companies but they're still good. I've never owned one of their locking ones but I do like their regular ones so if you were looking for a bigger locking blade folder then it would probably be good (unless they're illegal there...).

Hi Leo,

I have a few pocket folders, One I am tending to turn to quite a bit is the "Pocket Bushman" from Cold Steel. I can even use it to baton wood, Yesterday for instance three inch round dry Ash. The lock up is good, a quick tap on the pommel and its tighter than a tight thing in a tight spot. Its so solid looking that you are not afraid to give it some hammer and use it:D.

spydie manix or mini manix if you can get your hands on one.i,ve also been using a cold steel recon 1 ,which is really good . a big solid folder ,with a good locking system on it.

I have an old timer stockman I like, I also recommend the Victorinox lockables, mine is the rucksack model which lives in my daypack, and I have a Spyderco Centofante 3 as my EDC pocket, this last one does evrything from opening packages, to taking fruit apart & some Bushcraft projects, to some other uses better not mentioned, surfice to say I work & travel in the third world...

I highly recommend this one, mine is about 3-4 years old and still going strong...
