I've got a friend who wants a knife making and wants to know where to browse to find various makers to check out in the UK.

A lot of them only promote on social media, but robevs has a website- bushtools.co.uk

I guess it’s more a question around finding someone you don’t know. Perhaps google and websites as searching on Instagram and Facebook is not possible these days.
To search on Instagram it’s best to use hashtags, Facebook is a bit more tricky but maybe try some knife making groups?
It’s a shame most of all the really good knifemakers have gone from here, as they had in depth knowledge of the use of the tools which I think is what gave them the edge with design.

Instagram is probably your best bet, finding one knife maker then looking at the post likes from other makers will find you lots.

IG hashtags for anything like that are junk now. They have it so results just don’t show up. A bit of a shadow ban! If you try something like bushcraftknife, handmade knife uk or such like, you don’t get the results you expect. Or maybe I’m missing something.
Nomad Knifeworks makes some very nice knives. I believe he used to work with Stephen Wade Cox, who was acknowledged as one of UKs premier knife maker. Amongst other designs, he still makes the Woodlore Pro, although it’s more called something else as I believe Emberleaf now make it for Ray Mears, although another well known knife maker who’s already been mentioned, Rob Evans, reviewed Nomad’s and reckoned it was far better made than Emberleaf’s. I bought my Nomad Knifeworks one on the back of Rob Evan’s’ review and am really happy with it, it’s my best knife alongside my Bark River Aurora. 
Dave Budd on here is a rather talented knife and tool maker than would be happy to discuss your needs.
I have several of his cutting tools. All hold an edge nicely and are nicely put together.

Toby Platts, TP Knives. Was at the Bushcraft Show. Had a nice chat, very impressed with attention to ergonomics, fit and finish. Does all his own heat treat, and works in a range of modern steel as well as O-1. Highest polished Scandi bevels I have seen anywhere, stoned flat.
There was another maker at the Bushcraft Show whose work I saw and was impressed by, but I didn't take down his name. Wildsomethingorother. A few tents down from TP, on the way towards the Overland area. Young chap. Lots more knives suitable for hunting, boning, general, rather than just Scandi bushcrafters. Anyone have a name?

I know what you mean, I tend to avoid that word myself when I’m posting. Have you tried using alternatives like tool, axe or smith etc?
Knife makers tend to like each other's posts. Pick a maker you like. Look at the likes on one of their posts, look at the list, click a maker, look at who likes their posts, rinse and repeat. Don't worry about searching it's useless.

It is worth a look, lots of good information and knowledgeable people on there but there is not all that many makers that regularly post there anymore compared to social media in my opinion
Sadly these days forums are not the place to find a mass of makers.
