What's for dinner?, a phrase that's uttered the length and breadth of Britain, well tonight we have (from left to right)

Alexanders, Cleavers, Hawthorn leaves & Garlic Mustard (Jack by the hedge)

The Alexander stems were cut up into lengths of approx 2-4 inches in length and boiled in lightly salted water for about 10 mins

The Cleavers had the same treatment, but just a blanch, not a boil up

and then served with a knob of real butter, some black pepper and sea salt with a Garlic Mustard flower for garnish

The Alexander leaves, Hawthorn leaves and Garlic Mustard leaves were washed and served as a side salad with a drizzle of Balsamic vinegar and Olive Oil, no pics im afraid it got demolished before i got a chance to take a pic.

Great dinner along side a couple of Turkey steaks - total cost = pennies.

They are not bad, the raw leaves taste like celery leaves to me, the stems once boiled up are a bit bland, but do have a pleasant flavour, some people i know say they taste like asparagus, taste nothing like it to me, but there again everyone is different with different tastes
