Aye Up Neil1,

Nice video, nicely produced and without too much 'rabbit' and with good use of text on screen.

A good example of an almost comprehensive wild camping kit-set and nice to see that it was almost all in subdued colours.

I would say that if it had included a map, compass and whistle (especially if you are deploying solo!) it would be five stars.

You might also have included the all-up weight of the ruck and the gear on your belt. It would make a good gauge for those new to the pass-time to measure against.

Well done pal. goodjob

I liked that.

Not quite what I take, but we are all different and arrive at different answers to similar questions. Plainly showed the fruits of a lot of practical experience , and an excellent example on which a beginner can build on in the light of their own experience.

I too liked the small amount of "rabbit" - a good example for others to follow in the production of teaching videos.

Well done and thank you.

Thanks for that share, good information, short , concise , thorough and to the point!

Your style of tutorial is the best,
No need for long rants , just short snippets of clear precise info.
Well done mate and thank you!
😃

Thank you for the comments. I try to keep them as practical as possible and only stick to what people actually need (most people drive to a wooded area that they know and stay there to practice their skills - hence no map & compass). I may make one dedicated to travel in wild country perhaps.
My next planned one will be on "Year round clothing for bushcraft", covering the basics (layers, fabrics, etc).

I made this a while back and think it may be useful in this section. I hope it helps..

Thanks for this. It's very similar to the kit I used to use before I moved to the tropics...I'm now back and in the process of rebuilding a temperate camping kit and avoiding too many gadgets! This is a big help to get me back to basics.

One thing: what is that lightweight alternative clothing set?

Thanks again

Bob

Its a "zoot suit", basically a two piece shell suit made out of para-silk. With this I have a lightweight base layer set too, made of merino wool.
