OO buckshot (or 000) It's cheap (can be bought in 5 pound or 25 pound bags) and is great ballisticly.

It kinda depends what strength bands/tubes you are shooting with, I have a catty with double theraband gold bands and use 10 or 12mm lead shot with mine.

I use .44 cal lead balls. 300 and a bit fps/ around 18ft/lbs. Easier/cheaper to buy a mold from the states ( never managed to find one over here) and make your own than buying them :)

Has anyone tried glass marbles? I'd be curious to here your results. Seems like they'd be a non-toxic ( environmentally friendly) alternative if they work.

They can shatter, not great if you don't want bits of broken glass lying around. Also if they are transparent then they could cause fires?

Yeah I know they CAN shatter. That's kinda the info I'm looking for. Does anyone have any experience on just how likely/often that occurs? Are they lethal enough? Etc.

When it comes down to it you really don't want to leave lead scattered about to get into the food chain or leech into the groundwater either.

I've never used one, so my thoughts would be, likely if you hit a stone or other hard object square. Unlikely if hitting soft quarry, but beneficial if it did. ;) They are cetainly heavy enough to drop small game easily if the catty has the power.
