The thing is, it is absolutely inevitable that when you tidy up afterwards you will miss something, and that one thing will give the whole thing away.

That's the point when things start to get painful...

Just cleared everything away and found a big blob of Autosol on the carpet.I'm starting to wish I had stayed in the garage;)

My knives and main strop live in... the living room.
I sharpen my blades while we are watching TV together.
Herself never says a word :)

It is all a matter of training them right from the word go :)

To be fair to my better half she doesn't mind what I do as long as I clean up and don't make a mess.the problem is I keep having little accidents like the Autosol or blood on the carpet which does annoy her a bit.As for training I've tried for 18years and it's not going well:)

"...or blood on the carpet..."

The easiest way to disguise the blood on the carpet is to spill a small amount of red wine on top of it and then have the rest of the bottle and couple of glasses waiting on the table for her return.

Don't forget the candles.

As my old flatmate used to saw when he came home finding me doing that... "Jezz! It's like living with David Bloody Crockett with you!"

If she came home to candles and a bottle of wine she would know I'd done something wrong she would be through this house like something off CSI

I guess I'm lucky. The woman I spend the most time with now might well have her chain saw dismantled on the floor. Or be gutting fish in the kitchen.

The missus will happily gut fish, but I can't see her with a chainsaw, she got a blister on her hand once trying to start the lawnmower
