Hi folks,i have been having a go at netting recently, and made a couple of bags for storing various bushy stuff, and today i made a Harpoon. The shaft is Hazel and the barb was carved from a piece of Willow. The binding is hand rolled Raffia.
Oh and a hand drill also, again the binding was hand rolled.

Nice work S.

Would a hardwood be better for the barb if the outfit was in daily use?
Mind you don't suppose it'd matter too much.

(Just thinking out loud).:)

nice harpoon! might want to make a Priest (despatching tool, basically a small heavy metal covered club) to go with it.

Hi Scorpio, thanks for the idea but i already have one made :D

Hi Tam,my thinking about using Willow, was simply that its a water loving tree.
So i thought that the wood might not swell up as much, but i could be wrong :dunno:

Of COURSE i will never get the chance to find out if it works or not, being illegal to use in this country. :fishing: :D ;)

Cheers Stuart.
