It's not a quince, looks more like some type of ornamental crab apple. If it is then it could be used for wine or jelly. Cut one open around the middle as look at the seeds.

  • Leaves are alternate in arrangement, not divided into leaflets and are deciduous.
  • Leaves are toothed.
  • Bark has horizontal bands of pores.
  • Young twigs are green, smooth and glossy.
  • Flowers and fruits are solitary.
  • Style - 1.
  • Fruit is more than 2cm long, fleshy with a smooth skin and often with a waxy bloom. The sepals are absent on the ripe fruit.
  • Seed - 1.
Trees-Up to 8m tall with a rounded crown of numerous branches.
Leaves-Glossy green on the upper surface, downy on the veins on the underside. The edges have small, rounded teeth.
Flowers-Usually single, occasionally in clusters of 2–3, appearing before the leaves.
Petals-They are 8–10mm long, white or pink.
Ripe fruits-Hanging, oval-shaped, yellow, red or purple and sometimes with a thin grey or white, waxy bloom on the skin.
Notes-One of the first Prunus species to flower in spring and often mistaken for a true cherry. The normal, green-foliaged form has white flowers and yellow or red fruits. A purple-foliaged form with pink flowers and purple fruits is also commonly planted.

It's not a cherry plum as it has the remains of the flower on the end of the fruit; plums, cherries etc don't (see No. 7)

Looks very similar to the crab apple "John Downie" if you google the pictures, quite commonly planted.
