I'm using an extension called NoScript in Firefox to manage whether or not a page can run Javascript. It tells me that the IP address 83.070.96.58 is trying to run a script. Seems that ip belongs to uk2.net which is see is your host.

Do I lose anything by not letting this script run?

83.170.96.58 and 83.170.96.59 are both addresses that resolve to bushcraftuk.com

83.170.96.58 being a different server to .59 (server40057 and server40058 to be precise)

So I'd say that BCUK has another server that is A) A failover for the .59 address and B) Being used to collect information.

Its probably being used for advert tracking or reporting, as i see they have a directory on that server called "AdvertPro".

So no your not missing out, but are blocking true statistical measurements.

Yes, that is simply calling the ad-server to display ads, nothing else - that's the main way we are supporting the new *expensive* site now....

Yeah, big sites with lots of demand shifting lots of bandwidth can be costly eh? I understand the ads and I think you've done very well with them so far, they're relevant and fairly compact. I've been clicking a good few to checkout their products ;)
