WHAT DID YOU MAKE TODAY?

  • BushMoot: Come along to the amazing Summer Moot 31st July - 5th August (extended Moot : 27th July - 8th August), a festival of bushcrafting and camping in a beautiful woodland PLEASE CLICK HERE for more information.
Similar-ish with photobucket. I think I downloaded them all out before they closed the doors. I still get emails from them suggesting I pay for access back in. "Final chance" " They'll be deleted soon" "Remember these old pics you have" I actually find it a bit amusing to see the begging.
That was low of Dropbox and Photobucket. “We keep the pictures, you keep the memories.”

Didn’t make these today, gave them to my step granddaughter at the weekend.

I guess while I'm thinking about it, here's a couple cool slow motion vids. Here I am firing the dart gun I made. The body is oak, the power is supplied by an extra heavy bungee cord, and she fires darts I make with barbecue skewers:
A couple years ago I was making some corncob pipes and left the kernels laying around. When I sat down to smoke a joint I saw my cat staring at something on the floor and when I looked I saw this little vole taking off with the corn. So I drove the cat out and let the shed calm down and sure enough
back he came. So when he took off with it I sat on the floor and waited. When he came out again I caught him on my phone. But anyways..
And that’s what happens when you sit around smoking weed all day, you get rodents move in because they know you’re too stoned to move. :lmao:

I've struggled without proper tools, but finaly built the garden plant frame , and the mini grow house.View attachment 102157
Ready to be placed in its proper position.
The grow house was snap together, and much easier , tho the wind picked up when I went to put the cover on and it all fell apart again.
Much choice language!!!!!!
Real comedy sketch stuff as I tried to hold it together to stop it collapsing and attempt to hold on the the cover as it sailed from my grip across the garden.

Second rebuild, I used a mallet to ram home the parts with extra oomph. It's not coming apart again!
Still a fair bit of tidying to finish things off, but im almost done, and ready for seed planting

We have the exact same grow house here. The bad weather we had over the winter knocked it about so much it's essentially bust now. Bolt it to your fence if you can.

All the best
Andy

I made what I hope will work well as a little camp oven type thing.

All just tacked together for the time being. Unfortunately the weather turned on me and I've not had a chance to test it out yet. Heading back offshore now too.

Hopefully I'll be able to test it out properly once I'm back.

Cheers
Andy

It looks grand. I was going to ask what the flanges on the top do; but I realise they are for when you put coals up there, like the ring on the lid of a dutch oven.

recently i watched an older "Chad Zuber" video on YouTube about weaving a basket from cattail leaves, so today i a go and created the (probably) wonkiest basket in history... i also used green leaves as that's what i had available, but it was fun nonetheless :-) , i'm already toying with the idea of #2 from papyrus leaves (introduced species here) as that's available close by (vs. cattail several km at the beach)
my last weaving project was a basket trap for fish 2003 in the Top End-- when i returned 2005 i found a piece* of it downriver, meaning it survived two wet seasons (and flooded rivers)

* i took the funnel out before leaving to prevent anything getting caught for nothing

That looks like it will make a difference in the hot weather
That area is quite sheltered from the wind and it gets very hot on sunny days; mum often finds it too hot to sit out there. I might need to fix another hasp for another bungee cord on the nearest of the two poles, to pull tension against the other pole. But that will have to wait until my next visit.

That’s great!

I would like a lid for my M40 kit which is very like your crusader lid but oval.
Might you consider a commission?

There is a guy making lids for the M44 but they don’t fit the SS M40 and I’m looking for one for the pan rather than the pot.

They unfortunately do take some time to do, that was the third attempt.
