I like that one . Last i heard Hollyweird were going to do a remake of it, that was a good while ago now.
Mum had recorded the France England match in the 6 Nations and wanted to watch that tonight.
I'm not really that interested in watching televised sport.
I already knew the score and had been subjected to the post match analysis on French wireless the following day, but I managed to keep quiet until the final whistle, even in the last moments when the referee awarded a penalty against England that "the best kicker in the world" put between the uprights to win the match in the final moments.

Reverse censorship. As soon as I discovered that Youtube are removing videos of people reviewing this film I immediately wanted to watch it. Ironically if they hadn't tried to censor it I probably wouldn't have even heard about it or been interested in watching it.
Still, it does look like a good film though. Let's see what all the fuss is about...

Today is Mel Brooks 100th birthday. Turner Classic Movies has a Mel Brooks marathon of his movies today, The Producers, Blazing Saddles and now Young Frankenstein. When, I watch these movies I think there is no way, no way these would EVER get made today. Still, I just laugh my butt off all the way through them and I've seen them all dozens of times. I'm not sure if this is a statement about Brooks movies being great or how far western culture has failed. We appear to have lost the ability to laugh at ourselves, lest we offend that one wretch who is permanently offended by everything.
Today I watched England v DR Congo (wow, what an ending) and USA vs Bosnia & Herzegovina (take me home, country roads). Tomorrow I'm setting time aside to watch Colombia vs Ghana.
