You’ve got some stamina to manage that. I can read it as a series of long winter tales. I’ve no time for the layers of “significance” that some people over-lay it with.

Stamina?! I finished Das Kapital just before Christmas. I was down to my last quark of sanity by the end of that!

I finished this a few days ago.

The story begins with a Japanese photographer accompanying a group of climbers in the Himalayas, and getting his hands on one of the two Vest Pocket Kodak cameras that were carried by Mallory and Irvine on their fatally failed Everest ascent of 1924.

Before finishing this manga I ordered a second hand copy of The Mystery of Mallory and Irvine, so that's in my pile of books to read.

You might read of the Witches in their own group and read Equal Rites later only then recognising the Weatherwax/Ogg character before it split.

I ... didn't realise that split had happened. Oops

And that's having read Equal Rites, Wyrd Sisters, and Witches Abroad, more than once (albeit a good while ago).

I did however notice there was a difference between Granny in Equal Rites and Granny in Wyrd Sisters / Witches Abroad, and had put it down to character development.

I think character development is exactly what it was.
It wasn’t any part of the plot; there was no magical split. In Weird Sisters her characteristics from Equal Rites had been shared (and developed) in two directions).

Dune is a book I’ve read multiple times, it’s great, the prequels however are pants, not at all comparable to the original. As an aside, don’t waste your time on the recent dune universe tv series - absolute guff.

Working my way though the Xeelee series from Stephen Baxter. The scale is vast, but I stick to the impression that these are not happy books. Tremendous reads all the same.
