Oh let us know how it goes. I just reread the Iain Banks 'Culture' books and have wondered if Tchaikovsky is any good. Can that really be his real name? I quite fancy a career as Billy Beethoven.
This is a great book to take out on countryside walks to help you discover which of the plants that grow naturally in the British Isles are edible. I have both a large hardback version at home and small pocket sized paperback version which I sometimes carry out with me. Both have lots of colour pictures with photos in the little pocket book and detailed hand drawn pictures in the hardback.
It's fun to wander around our horses meadows searching the hedge rows for free food (some of it needs preparing first but some can be eaten raw). It's surprising how much of our natural countryside is edible at different times of the year including many of the leaves as well as the more expected berries, fruit and other vegetables. There are even sections in the book that include stuff like fungus and things that can be found in or by the sea and other bodies of water.

Food For Free has well stood the test of time.
Food For Free has a section on poisonous plants but it is not particularly comprehensive.
In a former life I used to advise the Royal Gwent Hospital when someone had eaten the wrong bit of the countryside.
