Hi!!
Here you have a chargeanalysis on the axe steel I use and It´s the same in a GB axe
C 0,54 - SI 0,26 - MN 0,58 - P 0,015 - S 0,024 -V 0,058
But I heard that the company that made this axe steel will maybe stop do it
So I know that some look´s for a new steel and I know that some test a Uk made steel but not all test are done

wow! say his name and he shall appear!
im afraid i dont know enough about metals for that to mean anything, but thanks all the same, im sure others will find it helpful.
now i know what its made of and basically how to care for it then im a lot more confident. though its a shame that i will have to purchase a new one every century!

so, cegga, what makes cegga axes better than a gransfors axe? do they cost more? go on, give me an excuse to buy one! :D

You don't need an excuse to buy a Cegga, but do so because you appreciate the craftsmanship of an artisan, and know that these are much more than a cutting tool!

Or, you don't know, and need to ask......
