We've got snow!

We've got snow falling :yikes:
It's been a beautiful Spring, warm and sunny , the trees are budding out into leaf, the birds are nesting with astonishing industry, the bees are buzzing, the butterflies are fluttering..........and it snows

Sod's law I suppose, but if the temperature on the ground drops to match the stuff falling from the sky, it's a poor look out for a lot of things.

It's very heavy and big snowflakes here, Falkirk Area, but slightly sticking, mainly melting. It was wet last night so the grounds wet.

I had kids kayaking last Tuesday on the canal at Linlithgow, complaining about being too hot and thirsty !

I seem to remember last year doing this also, my fruit trees had started to bud and come alive with some green stuff then it snowed for a couple of days. Next week It'll be sunny and warm again no doubt!

Hasn't stopped with me since yesterday afternoon/evening. Has even been comming down quite hard although not settling [I'm a couple of feet from the coast so all the salt stops it lying unless its REALLY cold]

We had at least 4-6" in places this morning. For the last few years we have usually had a dumping of snow around March/April.

There is plenty up here for me to have fun with.

The Lecht is opening tomorrow and they have already groomed some pistes. Problem is the Glenshee road is shut so I would have to go to Aberdeen then in......

Methinks the real question is why all the early warm weather? Snow this time of year is not unusual around here. Or at least, it didn't used to be. For awhile here, it got so hot I thought it was summer.

Had the snow here as well but its to wet and damp for it to stick,does'nt really feel cold enough either.

Went outlast night for a walk last night for a walk it was getting dark and i didnt have a torch so headed for some woods for a nights sleep by a fire. Temperature was 1 degree at 10 last night.

Fell asleep fine only to be woken by the damn dog throwing sticks at me and the boughs above me covered in snow, checked the temp at 3am and it was minus 11.

Had to scramble about in the dark for wood.

The walk back was horrendous. snow up to my knees on open ground.

I got home and alot of it has melted. It was nice snow this morning now it is just damp horrible snow now . So much for trying out the snowshoes this year then.

Here on the SE edge of Leeds, I looked like a snowman after I got back with the dog. Foul wet and sticky stuff, not the nice dry fluffy version.

we've got a good six inches here and it's still falling pretty heavily, we have a bbq planned for tomorrow for a mates birthday, could be interesting

Got a couple of inches of wet slushy stuff here. We were out at 10 pm last night covering all the seedlings/plants with fleece and moving what we can into the greenhouse, complete nightmare. Hope we havent lost much, so much work has been put into it all, it'll be a real kick in the teeth if its for nothing.

But, on the other hand, to make up for it, I have a blown-down fence and a flattened Daff patch.
