If this is no good is there a similar V stone thing I can carry for use on SAKs ?

no experience of that particular sharpener ... but i use this on my opinels .. and various others (cheap ones... coz im a cheapskate)... http://www.bladetech.co.uk/ ..... it keeps the high carbon opinels shaving sharp if you take your time

I was just going to say that it looks remarkably similar to the Bladetech items.
Bought one once, used it a few times - then learnt to sharpen properly.
If it does have tungsten carbide tips like the Bladetech, you'd be amazed at how much steel you're loosing every time you sharpen - admitedly you also loose steel to an oil or waterstone, but these things take iot off by the bucketfull! Perhaps its a means of selling more knives to replace those worn out through overenthusiastic sharpening.
Have a read of the £5 sharpening thread - it'll save you big money in the long run.

Thanmks. I'm really looking for a little thing I can carry to touch up blades and sharpen in the field. I was also looking at the DMT credit card sized stone to carry in my wallet, any thoughts ?

The DMT or a DC-3 or 4 would be a much better tool for the job.

Fallkniven DC3 or 4. Both tried and tested by many on here including myself. It's what I would recommend.
