This weekend I decided to get on and handle the crook knife blade I picked up from the CLA Game Fair. This is my first attempt at handling a blade, I had a rough idea what to do so got on with it and I am pretty happy with the outcome.
Filed down the brass to fit
Marked out the tang on a piece of Sycamore
drilled and filed
Blade fitting nicely
Cut off the excess length and started sanding by hand and then glued in the blade
Once set I sanded down the hand to a nice fit in my hand. I may take this down a bit more.
When I am happy with it I will put a finish on the wood.
Also this weekend a non-working washing machine popped up on freecycle, which I jumped on. After a lot of faffing I got a new firepit, I had a can of stove spray paint so gave it a clean and a spray.
and finally I pick up this leather (with crocodile print) from my Step Fathers workshop for the next project.
