Hi All,
Just wondering what peoples thoughts are on the best types of weather conditions to go rabbit shooting.
We went out spotlighting last night in very strong wind. The other guys weren't too keen on the idea of going out but I said that the rabbits would probably be hunkered down and more likely to stay like that than run away at the first sight and sound of us. Happily I was proved right and we ended up with about 90 bunnies. Would have been more but the wind was playing havoc with the shooters aim with the .22 magnum, but there were also some shocking misses with the 12g!
I've also gone out on my own in windy conditions and experienced the same thing - bunnies hunkered down and much easier to sneak up on (walking into the wind). Is this the same in other peoples experiences?
Also, dark nights or moonlit? What do you reckon?
Cheers,
J
