Ok, so I know that calling the Superfly small is pretty "controversial", as the Superfly by no means can be considered small, seeing as it is the biggest tarp Warbonnet makes.

However, I constantly find myself thinking, that I don't really have a lot of space, when I'm out and about with my Blackbird XLC and my Superfly. To me it just seems cramped as long as I'm doing anything under the tarp that doesn't involve me sitting in the hammock.

What am I doing wrong? If I hang it high enough to seem spacious, it seems that the underside of the hammock gets exposed to the elements.

Also, where do the rest of you store your rucksack when hammocking? Lying on the wet, muddy ground doesn't really do it for me :-)

Cant help with the Superfly but I just put a rain cover on my rucksack and put it on the ground (shoulder straps upwards) under my hammock, never had any issues.

i put a cheap plastic tarp under my hammock and it goes on that if its raining if not it hangs on a tree with a bit of paracord regards dave

I use a bathtub floor under mine which stops any wet getting to my gear. If its dry I hang my pack on my hammock suspension. Using the tie outs my superfly feels plenty big enough.

I like that pole set-up. I think I'll try that with mine. Was wondering how to use it in better weather. To me the 'doors' are an adverse weather bonus. Nice one.
