Were about as far away as we can get I recon but thanks for the offer. I'm near Peterborough. 250 miles from you :lmao::lmao::lmao:
I was going to make one from either Paracord or GPO blue rope but you would need miles of it so I was going to try for some cheaper ready made netting ;)

Sub 1" strong netting you're looking at a cod-end. Very heavy. Any reason you need the mesh to be so fine?

Kev, don't give up on material hammocks - I reckon a mesh one (certainly anything with knots in it) with be on the border of being so uncomfortable as to be unusable for actually sleeping in. http://www.imrisk.com has all you want to know about making one - you just need to use a material that not only is suitable but inspires confidence.

Without wanting to be patronising, after-all, I'm only a couple of stone lighter at about 20 st, the Nomads Land group buy items are plenty for me, but try something like cordura, light canvas or double/treble layer rip-stop nylon. Either sew or tie the ends and rig it a few inches above the floor - then you don't have far to fall if it does fail.
