I'm literally chucking a tin on the fire today (or maybe tomorrow).

How much were you looking for? This will be the finest denim charcloth (old diesel jeans. £120 so it better be good quality!!!)

My denim char cloth does not take to a spark. when I use a lighter it does light but does not keep going for long.

Its pure black, and if I pull lightly it will break apart. Did I not bake it long enough? Maybe it could be fabric softner still on the jeans ?

Sorry for thread highjack.

same offer as others here - if you dont get any pm me.
Mine i have made from a cotton t-shirt - it works very well, only need a tiny amount to catch a spark then you can get a fire direct to kndling or put an ember extender like bullrush in to hold the small coal while you blow like billyo on the grass and twigs etc.

I have some linin i am going to try soon - it is supposedly a very good material.

make sure your using 100% cottong is all i can advice
