Managed to save some really nice bits of Walnut from going in the wood chipper. I have split some it looks like this.

The two long staves come in at 135cm and the two small ones off to the left at 75cm. The two small ones I am hoping to splice, was wondering if any of the Bowyers out there have any experience with hand saws used for cutting z-splices? I am looking at Japanese Hassunme crosscut saw. Your help is greatly appreciated :) Im thinking that at 135cm the bow I'll try for will be wide in the limb and may be backed with sinew. Having never done a splice I thought the two 75cm billets would make a good practice.

Right now I have on the go a 170cm Hazel replica of the bow i saw at the Neanderthal museum.
