the nms have this exhibition starting in january, it looks like there'll be a fair number of events and lectures (neil oliver)as well as items lent from the Swedish History Museum.

I'm in the Travelodge near Stuart's Melville and Mary Erskine Junior School for three nights, 12th to 14th February.

It's just off the Queensferry road as I recall.

Wayland,

Make sure you pack photography kit for sunsets, or sunrises, at Arthur's Seat, great easy walk up and fantastic views, both sea and Architectural.
Arthur's Seat is right in the middle of Edinburgh.

Also a must for great views of the city , go to the roof terrace on the new part of the museum
but they might chuck you out before sunset as they shut at 5 .
