Hi all, here is my first attempt at a Kuksa using cherry wood, with Viking influences burnt in using my old soldering iron.
Hope you like it...

Good job there mate! And very well presented too. Was it very hard to carve a cherry wood? I tried to make a kuksa from apple, it was a nightmare... I broke it in the end and now it's hanging in the kitchen as a decoration... looks good though :D :D

Thanks for all the good comments everyone, milius2 the cherry was quite difficult to carve as I didn't have a hook blade only a knife, saw and sandpaper, plus it was my first so I don't really have anything else to judge it by yet;)

I still haven't made one of these kuksas and so another thing hits the endless list I have to make ;) Also love the brass triskell on yer bench, I have always had the triskell as my makers mark and sigil since I was young. Were did you get it?
