Ventile smock,xmas comes early

Having seen your smock I'm contemplating having a go myself (though my mum would be doing the actual sewing).

I've just got a couple of questions, your smock looks quite long would it be easy enough to shorten it a little?

Could the pattern be adapted to make it double layered? I was thinking maybe an outer of L24 with a lining of L34.

And is the hood wired ? it looks it though it may just be the ventile.

Did you use firsts or seconds of the Ventile fabric? And how much did you need ?
