Sounds more like a protection racket in the manner you've described it.

It kind of is but then leaving EU means UK is just in a different protection racket.

So drifting back to Varusteleka, while I've never bought from them their website has often proved very helpful offering more detail on surplus items than other suppliers, whilst also being very entertaining of course.

Especially on the sizing of their clothes they are better than most webshops. They clearly show the measurments of the clothings. Easier to buy, just measure yourself and compare to the webshops measurments.

I've bought from these guys a few times , there excellent service and good prices make them well worth using.
In fact I can't recommend them enough
