Bit late to the convo, but i bought one of these in November and have been really impressed with it. Just look at the reviews on Amazon. Its not a keyring torch. Runs off a rechargeable or 3 aaa's. but I'm impressed with it thus far. Its not 500k lumens as the ad suggests, probably a typo, yes its Chinese (i think) but i do recommend them. Its a good torch for the money. Not had to charge it in the 3 months i've had it (used about 10 mins a day on high) and its still got half its factory charge left.

I dont know what all the science means. I want something with no batteries and for finding things in my dark tent and going outside to get things.. Maybe as bright as a maglite at a guess .. x

I use my fenix ld15r for that, it takes a battery but you can charge it via the usb port on the side, it also has a second, red, led. It comes with a rechargeable battery and cable, I rarely take the battery out.

Dim to very bright, it’s a right angle torch but I like that. It’s also small.
