unknown knife

Can anyone tell me anything about this knife.
Other than its german and its from the 1940s

I had a german 'dagger' sometime back and sold it to a military collector,it had the same emblem as that on it.....he said it was a 'nazi' dagger.

Looks more like an eating knife than anything else.

Id go along with whats been said either a soldiers issue knife part of mess kit, or from a military diner set,eg mess room etc,wether it was ground down during or post war who knows?
