Ultimate SAK

  • Come along to the amazing Summer Moot (21st July - 2nd August), a festival of bushcrafting and camping in a beautiful woodland PLEASE CLICK HERE for more information.
I've got the little 1GB or it might be 512mb version, the USB drive comes out so you can carry it on a plane and pack the little knife. Never use it, open to trade.

I agree this seems more likely to be a proof of concept / publicity stunt rather than something seriously intended to be used. Even high end gaming machines don't have 1tb SSDs, so I can't imagine how much the flash drive alone must cost. 99.999% of that "about 400 to 3,000 dollars" I'd wager.

On a slightly OT note, I've come to the conclusion that SAKs are particularly vulnerable to the law of diminishing returns. I carried a full size Swiss Champ for several years and eventually got tired of lugging around a metal quarter-brick full of tools I never used. I scaled down to my one blade Arthur Wright.

However lately I have been missing some tools on the SAK, most notably the screwdrivers. I've been considering getting a new SAK which isn't quite so insane.

The Tinker or the Hiker both only contain tools I would actually use. The only "fat" on them is the small blade which I have always found redundant.

its one of those "wow i gotta have one"

i bet 99% of them are either impulse buys, or well meaning family members thinking it'll make a good gift,

then it arrives and you realise instanly its pretty pathetic ,...or you have to smile and say thanks

i have drawers full of **** like this,..
