I picked up an old hatchet recently and set about its transformation
what do you think before and after pics

And it looks like this now
The other axe is my Viking axe that I transformed and rehalfted at the same time the handles were made out of a pick axe handle

Looks great! Do you disassemble, clean the head up, re-handle and sharpen? Would like to do something similar one day

Im not really a fan of being able to take the head off. There both very securely wedged with an hardwood wedges

The Vaughan is as biker has identified a lath hammer from back when they used lath and plaster on stud walls, some old school roofers still use them for referb work but generaly they have fallen into redundancy for the building trade
