Turned Elm Lamps

After monkiyboi182 valiantly tried to make some lamps for me ending in unfortunate disaster SWMBO still wanted a pair for the bedroom. Biker suggested we give his friend Paul at ridgeway woodcraft a try

We asked for a simple design in elm and he did us proud.

I only wish the photos did them justice.

Many thanks to Paul who was great to deal with thought the entire process. And great thanks to Monkiboi182 for giving up his time to give it a go.

Hi Mike, those looks really nice!

If there's one thing I can say about Paul it's that he puts a lot of soul into his work. He comes from an engineering background so you can imagine the precision and tolerances he goes to in doing something like this. Not such an easy thing to do with something so fickle as wood.

Really glad I was able to help both you and Paul out with those bases.
