Tracking a bicycle...

I think the speed of the bike would be the determining factor in how easy this would be to interpret. The faster the bike is ridden, the smaller the 'excursions' of the front wheel with respect to the line of overall travel.

A slow ride round a car park with a painted wheel would be great though, wouldn't it?
