Tool Roll suggestion.

So now the tinkerers pleasure begins of deciding exactly what are the essential tools to include and swapping out and thinking and re-thinking and swapping out again.

Which I find can be a relatively enjoyable experience in itself and doesnt seem to contravene any UK laws currently.
I’m afraid that the law does apply:

It states that whatever you settle on to fill your tool roll, on the first trip out you shall need something that isn’t in it.

Looking at some of those tool rolls, I don't see how they would roll up when the compartments are full.

I agree mostly - it does lend itself to more 'cylinder' type tools - but equally does focus the task into making the selection more deliberate.

I found a decent canvas chef’s knife roll online somewhere for about £20 which would be good for tools. Only got about a dozen slots though, but you could put a few extras in the middle inside the flap to get more in. Has a carry handle and a shoulder strap too, which is useful.
