Drive 250 miles to camp in the rain and wind, or stay home and craft stuff?

Camping at least you can change your mind on the fly.

One famed camping writer packed up with his family for Devon.

At Brekfast someone commented they had never been to Scotland.

So they all headed North and had a great time.
 
Carp weather=getting stuff done & finished in the workshop.
5 hours travelling in a car to me sounds painful particularly in bad weather.

When my eldest girl was 6 months, I took my wife and child to the lake district, left at 5pm, arrived 4am.....almost zero visibility and snow storms for the last 2 hours of the drive....not fun.

But then again, it felt that half of that time was spent getting out of Kent! :-)

I've been working in Keswick this week and I might be a wuss for this but I wouldn't have driven 250 miles to camp in that weather.
Then I walked up High Pike today with a mate and it was really quite nice so err... could go either way.
