It dosn't take long to get the hang of it , after a while you get the hang of what distance to stand from the target .

when i was a kid we had a couple of axes and a meat cleaver and we used an old dead tree as a target after a while you don't think about it you just throw .

My brother came home one day with a cheap copy of a commando dagger , not very good for throwing but he still kept trying .
One day he was in the cellar throwing it into an old dart board , it hit handle first bounced back and stuck in his shin .

I do fancy giving one of the GB throwing axes a try.

Just been watching some of the other Vids from 'AlpesHaches' and came across this which seems to me to be a promotional vid for being a little boy all over again.!! One lucky happy Kid.

Does no one realise he could have tripped and fell over, fell from the tree, got dirty, or burnt his finger? Plain old dangerous that is,, his parents should be ashamed ;)

but i would rather not learn the distance by missing a few times with a big, £100, double bit throwing axe... what if the handle smashed into the log?

Then it would bounce off :D You might end up with a chip in the edge but the rest of it is pretty tough, there's not a lot to throwing them as there's a fair bit of edge allowing for a good variety of angle that will stick in the target. As bojit says, once you've worked out a distance that works for how fast you allow it to spin it's quite straight forward. What usually catches people out is the slow spin of a big axe, the smaller ones are much quicker.

Anyone know who made these axes ?

Sod the camera what if you hit another axe?!!!

Yeah, I think you can safely say he'd been practicing. I bagsy him on my team at the annual dart competiion down the local. LOL!

Did chuckle at Bojit's brother's incident with the dagger and the dartboard. Hope he was alright with no lasting side effects except a healthy respect for a knife.

when I was a kid, there was a fad for throwing knives between each other's feet - if you flinched and moved your foot, you lost.

Of course, one person totally cocked it up and put a knife through his cousin's spleen. I *think* he lived (it was a long time ago).

Me and my parents were away for the weekend so they had a lot of explaining when we got home ,
like why there was blood everywhere and he had 4 stiches from falling of his bike !!:nono:

I think both my older brothers did learn from this , they started throwing things at me :slap: mostly punches .
