A while ago i became interested in throwing knives. But i would like to try axe throwing...could someone post a link up for an axe in the uk. It should be reletively cheap because im not sure i want ot get into it yet!

I found two on amazon in the USA, but i wasnt sure whether they would ship over here.

Cheers,

Hi Jake,

Axe throwing hey - well Gransfor do a big double headed throwing axe - but if you want to try a really cool axe check out Attleborough's rifleman's tomahawk.

They are good then and require more skill then the big double headed axe.

Thanks Gary,
I searched on their site, but there were no results. The granfors is a bit out of my range...whats the price on the tomahawk?

If anyone is willing to sell, i may be willing to buy...

Cheers,

Jake

Don't forget a pigtailed Scandinavian woman and a Kirk Douglas impersonator, both absolutely vital to the proper axe throwing experience.

I think I have one some where - will have a dig in the loft.

I just looked on their site and cant see it either - its made by cold steel if that helps - failing that I'll pop up in the loft tomorrow.

The GB throwing axe is good for chopping, the only difference between it and the working axe is the length of the handle.

Could you post a link for the cold steel t-hawks?
Gary, are you an axe thrower?
Wayne...about the GB throwing axe, it really is useless. Honest.

Cheers,

Jake

Double headed axes are usually set up with one side honed for felling, the other side honed for limbing.
When my neighbour, old man Lalonde was teaching me how to fell trees in Lanark he told me to stay away from double headed axes until I really knew what I was doing with an axe.
Considering he was 82, and still had all of his appendages, I trusted his word implicitly.

I suppose the idea of a double headed throwing axe was just easier to get to stick in the target. One of the things that frustrated me the most was the clang of knives hitting the floor when they didnt stick!

spot on exploriment, there are two different edges for cutting as you correctly pointed out.anyone ever see those lumberjack competitions where they climb poles like telegraph poles and chop sections of them off at about thirty feet up? those guys can really handle their axes, theyre double headed ones and theyre damned sharp too.
awsome stuff. there was also throwing competitions too and the accuracy was scary.

wonder if they wear suspendies and a brar like monty python say?

I suppose your right! And now for something completely different.

I bought two cheap thowing knives about a year ago for a fiver. And have just discovered them! I really do want to try axe throwing. Would a cheap five £ axe work?
