Thistle Sporran / pouch

Twas swmbos fathers birthday the other day, im rubbish at buying gifts so i made him this instead. Hes scottish too so i figured couldnt go wrong with a wee sporran. he loved the pouch i made for swmbo so i thought i would make one to sort of match. the runic incription reads 'Luceo non Uro' which is the Mckenzie clan motto 'i shine, not burn'.

only managed two pics as my computer decided to eat the rest.

Not something I would use but I do like them...................you did a grand job with the dying too, what method did you settle for ?

thanks again folks

i used a model brush and painted a few coats of normal eco flo green dye for the leaves, and purple eco-flo flova (?) for the thistle part. then painted several coats of eco flo resist over the scroll, leaves and thistlehead. then i went over it all with eco-flo antique brown gel. then a final coat of finish/resist and some edge coat round the edges.
