To show that in some ways there was more choice (if possible less point to) of outdoors kit in yesteryear (and since the novelty of being able to put up my own pics hasn't worn off yet) heres something I picked up in a charity shop for a quid.

although how they got the chip pan itself to fold I don't know... ;-{D)

All I use it for is straining the veg when family camping but it is a neat solution to possibly a question that didn't need asking!

Me mam had one of those, its a blanching basket, where you dip fresh vegeatables in boiling salt water for a few seconds beofre thay get frozen in the freezer:) Its a neat little mechanism, reminds me a bit minnow-trappish:)

Thanks! I've always wondered what it was really for!

I wonder if in a few years they will have made a heat and liquid proof fabric we'll all be having collapsable pans and billys to put in our hover-bergans...
